EASTER ISLAND ! Maybe the most remote place in the world, in the very middle of the pacific. This place has been reached in the first place after thousands of kilometers of navigation, with the means of the first millenary: large double Canoe, sailing... and... no GPS nor Clock: it means navigation by the stars, and no precise mean of knowing the longitude.
Incredible to think they managed not only to encounter the rock, but also to establish a little merchant economy from there.
L'ile de Pâque ! Nous voici confortablement posés avec un avion de ligne. Il est incroyable d'imaginer les premiers humains arrivant ici, naviguant vraisemblablement à bord de doubles canoe, à voile, simplement avec le soleil et les étoiles, et sans montre, donc sans possibilité de connaitre précisément leur longitude, sur plusieurs milliers de kilometres... finalement, le GPS est un outil pratique !
