Bye bye Coober Pedy, we fly up north ! On the departure, we fly over this huge white area... This is actually a dead sea, now covered with salt.
It is so big that pilots can experience the "White Out" if they fligh low : when you cannot anymore distinguish the ground from the sky, you get spacial disorientation.
It happened to us over the icecap in Greenland, and today this strange phenomena takes place in the middle of Eye Salt Lake !

A bientôt Coober Pedy ! Après quelques minutes de vol, nous découvrons cette énorme couverture blanche... C'est l'ancienne mer intérieure d'Australie, qui est actuellement recouverte de sel.
Elle est si grande, que les pilotes qui la survolent à basse altitude risquent le "White Out" : lorsqu'on ne distingue plus le sol du ciel, on subi une désorientation potentiellement dangereuse.
Nous avions expérimenté ce phénomène en survolant la calotte glaciaire au Groenland, et aujourd'hui nous retrouvons ce même phénomène au milieu du Lac d'Eyre !
