We now head to Si Bani Yas, an island that was made to be a refuge for the wildlife, like the arabian oryx.
We met Emy, who's in charge of the predator area : indeed, the arabian oryx was extinct in EAU but reintroduced so well that now there is too much ! Emy is then controlling the population by the hyenas, another endangered animal.
When we met her, one of the hyenas just went out of its place, so she had to shoot it with an anesthesiant to make it sleep, and then to move it delicately back to its original place. At its wake up, the hyena was a bit lost : it did not see nor feel when Emy shot it, so it was like a curious dream to wake up somewhere else !
Nous allons maintenant sur Sir BaniYas, une île créée pour constituer un refuge pour la biodiversité en danger, telle que l'oryx d'Arabie.
Nous y retrouvons Emy, qui travaille ici de l'introduction des prédateurs. En effet, les oryx étaient éteints dans les EAU, mais ont été si bien réintroduits sur Sir Bani Yas qu'ils sont maintenant trop nombreux ! Emy est donc chargée de contrôler la population d'oryx grâce aux hyènes, un animal qui était aussi en danger. Quand nous l'a rencontrons, une hyène vient de s'échapper de sa zone : Emy l'a donc endormie sans qu'elle s'en aperçoive, pour la déplacer délicatement dans cette boîte en bois.
On a été un peu effrayé, mais au réveil la hyène était en bonne santé, juste toute étonnée de se retrouver dans sa zone :)
