Today, there is a big party at the harbour : two traditional maori double-canoe boats, Wakatapu, that came to the island few weeks ago, are departing to New Caledonia only navigating by stars and wind. No GPS, Maps or Compass !
And the weather declined today, with rain and wind.... good luck for the very good sailors !

Aujourd'hui, une grande fête est organisée au port : deux doubles canoes traditionnels maori, du nom de Wakatapu, repartent rejoindre la nouvelle-Zélande en naviguant au gré du vent et des étoiles. Sans GPS, cartes ou même compas !
Et pour ne rien simplifier, il s'est mis à pleuvoir et à venter ce matin... bon courage pour ces bons marins !
Nous leur avions demander s'ils pouvaient nous prendre à leur bord : ils font en effet le même trajet que nous... Pas de chance, ils étaient déjà 10 dans chacun des deux bateaux. Pour en savoir plus, voici leur site : http://wakatapu.com/
