Cascades horizontales / Horizontal waterfalls

Now, let's go to Indonesia ! Unfortunately, because of the late arrival of the plane by boat and because of the late permission to leave australia, we have to shorten the way back home. We won't be able to go in Vanuatu for the project regarding the Yasur volcano, and we won't fly over the Salomon islands.... It will be a good reason to come back :)

We now fly over the coast of North Western Australia before crossing the Timor Sea. On the coast, we made a small deviation to see what is called "the horizontal waterfalls", an impressive natural phenomena that is not at all a waterfall, but consists of a fast moving tidal flow between two narrow gorges.

Maintenant, direction l'Indonésie ! Nous devons malheureusement réduire notre trajet de retour, en raison du retard pris par le bateau et du retard dans l'obtention des autorisations de survol. Nous ne passerons donc plus au Vanuatu pour l'étude du volcan Yasur, et ne survoleront plus les îles Salomon... ca nous donnera une bonne raison pour revenir ;)

Nous longeons le côte nord-ouest australienne avant de traverser la Mer du Timor. Le long de la côte, nous faisons un petit détour afin de profiter des "cascades horizontales', un phénomène naturel créé par les différences de niveau entre le bassin situé entre les gorges et la marée qui a une amplitude supérieure à 10m !
